Bringing the City to Life Through Street Art
Waterford Walls has transformed Ireland’s oldest city into an open-air gallery, turning streets, lanes and gables into canvases for world-class street artists. Over a number of years, nmcDesign worked closely with the Waterford Walls team, supporting the festival as it grew into one of Ireland’s most recognisable public art projects.
Our role covered a wide range of design outputs, helping to shape how the festival presented itself to audiences locally and internationally. From event branding and promotional materials to print, signage and digital assets, the work needed to be bold, flexible and rooted in the energy of the city itself.
Each year brought new artists, new walls and new stories, and the design had to evolve alongside that—while still maintaining a strong, recognisable identity for the festival. The result is a body of work that reflects the scale, creativity and cultural impact of Waterford Walls, supporting a project that has permanently changed the visual landscape of the city.
